Austin Texas Lakes
Lake Travis is considered a gem among the Texas Lakes. It has crystal clear aquamarine water that naturally attracts water sport enthusiasts. From multi class sailboat and windsurfing regattas to competition ski boat, cruisers, and mansion-like houseboats. Lake Travis maintains the marina facilities, public parks, and boat ramp access, making Lake Travis with its magnificent hot summer weather the perfect destination for a nice summer resort for outdoor enthusiasts from around the country. Lake Austin is the sixth lake down in the chain of Highland Lakes. It starts at the Mansfield Dam and ends at the Tom Miller Dam in the city of Austin. A popular aspect of Lake Austin is Boating. With high cliffs along the shore, it provides shelter from the wind for all kinds of boating activities and the cliffs are packed with expensive homes overlooking the lake. The Sunshine Machine Boat Tours run a charter boat service on Lake Austin near City Park for up to 30 passengers to view the beautiful scenery. Among the Three lakes that surround the city, Town Lake bisects downtown with some 10 miles of hike-and-bike trails bordering the lake. |
